Help from New Neighbors...

The Needleburgs all agreed, that this Was the place they were searching for. They would take this little run down shell of a building and make it their home. They would work the land and turn it into a productive farm.

Papa Henry set straight away on getting that big tree off the roof. They had found some old tools in and around the building and readily made use of them.... He sawed and sawed....
The tree was a lot bigger than he first realized.... He kept sawing....
At this rate, Papa worried that they may not be in the house before the first snowfall!!
While Papa worked, the children started clearing away the front garden.
Mama Penny took care of the tall grass.
As the family worked, they had no idea that across the large meadow lived a bear family, the Woodburys.
From the Needleburg's homestead you could not see the grand house but from the upper floors of the Woodbury mansion you could just make out the little shack. Jenny Woodbury, the little sister, spotted some activity in the distance as she was standing on the balcony. She quickly ran down stairs and told her daddy, Benjamin Woodbury.
No one had used the old place in years, so Daddy Woodbury was very curious to see what was going on. He told Mommy Woodbury, where he was going and set out on the long walk across he meadow.
When he came upon the Needleburg family he was extremely happy and pleased that he would have new neighbors and offered them any help that they could use. Papa Needleburg told him about how he tried removing the fallen tree himself, but just couldn't manage it. Daddy Woodbury knew he was the man for the job, as he just happened to own the biggest construction business in the tri meadow area.
He returned home and brought back his strongest crane...
And without much effort, the fallen tree began to move....
Everyone cheered as the little shack was free of its enormous burden!
The rest of the Woodbury family made their way across the meadow to meet and greet their new neighbors. Mommy Olivia, sister Jenny, and big brother Christopher all brought baskets of food to welcome the Needleburgs. It was an exciting afternoon and everyone was filled with happiness and joy, they all new they would become fast friends.
to be continued.......
